Claire Hebeisen, violin
Violinist Claire Hebeisen is a player of music, a connector of people, and a sharer of stories. She aims above all to listen – to music, audiences, and students – and to approach everything she does with a sense of loving vulnerability and openhearted curiosity. Claire is active in chamber music, solo performance, and community engagement in North America and Europe and has performed in the United States, Canada, France, Iceland, the Netherlands, and England. In May 2024, Claire recorded and gave the world premiere of two violin concerti by Tristan Latchford including “Yearnings For Home” which was written for and in collaboration with her. Claire has recently been touring a concert of her creation, entitled Sorrow and Kindness, which weaves together solo violin music, poetry, and meditation. Claire is a member of Alberta, Canada’s Windwood Music Festival team as a performer and administrator and is a member of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. Claire is the Artistic Director of the Honey Acres Music Center where she runs the HAMC Concert Series and Teaching Studios. She also teaches with the DC Youth Orchestra and substitute teaches for Peabody Preparatory. Claire received a BM in ‘22 and MM in ‘23 from Peabody Institute and a GDP from McGill University in ‘23 studying with Violaine Melancon and Judith Ingolfson. While in school, Claire toured with her violin/percussion duo and the Asteío Piano Trio, which was invited to Ísafjörður, Iceland in June 2023 to the Við Djúpið Festival.
